    Default Mk2 leon warning light

My dad has a mk2 leon 2.0 tdi and a light has came on the dash. Its a yellow light showing a car with skid marks. Any idea whats causing this or even just what the symbol means. Any help is much appreciated.

    That one by any chance?
ESP light, could possibly an wheel/abs sensor has faulted.
Scan with Vagcom will confirm this for you

Or you just try pushing the ESP button and it might go off haha

If he's pushed a button then the quick and cheap fix is to un push the button. If he hasn't pushed a button, then it's gonna cost.

Is it a easy job? Or costly?

Mine was down to the ABS pump, fortunately because its such a common fault the pump can be resealed got mine done at Ron Turnbulls in Middlesbrough. Unfortunately its not cheap to fix but cheaper than when you had to buy a new pump! Mine is a Leon 2.0 TDi too.

Ignore Matt. He drives a bmw and he never really got over the fact that he was daft enough to give someone a grand for an engine that didn't exist. That was a 2.0ltr TDi engine, and I reckon that's the reasoning behind his hatred of said engine.

Personally, I ran my first 2.0ltr up to 140k miles with no issues other than the inlet manifold flap, and the second one is now on 90k.

As regards your problem, have you had it scanned for faults as that will point you in the right direction.

The car is going in friday to be checked. A mechanic friend of mine is quite sure it will be the pump but as someone said in a earlyer reply, a repair kit is available. Still 160 mind!!! Thanks for all the help.

I know its probably easy to check the ABS pump for someone who knows what their looking for but if its pump failure would that leave you without ABS? Just out of interest as id like to know if mine goes..its a Skoda after all
